IELTS and the Study Abroad Window in Your Chart

Someone typed this into their chart on 13 August 2026: "Kya mai ielts pass kr jaugu." Will I pass IELTS.

The straight answer is that a birth chart does not hold your band score. Nothing in this method reads a language test, and a page that told you it did would be selling you a number it cannot compute. What the method holds is the thing sitting either side of the test, and that turns out to be the part people actually get wrong: the window. Your test result is valid for a fixed stretch. Your applications go in during a fixed season. Your visa filing, your funding decision and your departure sit somewhere inside that. A Vedic chart maps that whole stretch, by the day, against two houses and the periods that run them.

This page computes the public half of that map. If you know your rising sign you can read your own dated windows out of the tables below without entering anything or signing in.

The two houses this question actually lives in

Vedic astrology counts twelve houses from your lagna, which is the sign that was rising on the eastern horizon at the minute and place you were born. Two of them carry distance, and they carry different halves of it.

The 9th is the house of going. The 12th is the house of staying somewhere else, which is why it carries both foreign residence and expense in the same breath: a life lived away from the family base costs money that does not come back into it. The 4th is in the table because it is the thing being left. A reading that looks only at the 9th and 12th describes a departure and never mentions what it departs from, and the fourth house is where the pull in the other direction shows up.

For a study-abroad question all three are live at once, and they can point in different directions. The 9th holds the university, the teacher and the degree. The 12th holds the room you will sleep in, the fees leaving your account, and the two years of not being at home. Those are separate parts of the same move, they are ruled by separate planets in every chart but two, and their periods run on separate clocks. That is the whole reason a chart says anything useful here rather than a flat yes or no: the interesting dates are where the two clocks agree, and the interesting problems are where they do not.

Your 9th and 12th lords are decided by your rising sign, and one of them may be shared

A house is read through its lord, which is the planet that rules the sign sitting on that house. Both distance houses therefore reduce to two planets, and which two is fixed entirely by where your lagna falls.

Two rows in that table have the same planet twice. Aries rising has Jupiter ruling both distance houses, and Libra rising has Mercury ruling both. That is arithmetic rather than coincidence, and it is worth understanding because it changes how a whole reading behaves. The 9th and the 12th are three signs apart. Only two planets rule a pair of signs three apart: Jupiter, which rules Sagittarius and Pisces, and Mercury, which rules Gemini and Virgo. So for exactly two of the twelve rising signs, one planet carries the going and the staying together.

The practical consequence is that an Aries-rising or Libra-rising candidate has a single period lord governing the whole distance question rather than two that can disagree. When that planet's period runs, both houses activate at once. When it does not, neither does, and the read goes quiet in a way it never quite does for the other ten rising signs. For everybody else the two houses run on separate clocks, and the interesting dates are where the clocks overlap.

The sky over the whole study-abroad cycle, computed

Saturn and Jupiter are slow enough to define a season rather than a week, and Rahu, the north lunar node, is the third body classical texts attach to unfamiliar ground. Here is where all three sit, from a walk through the ephemeris in Indian time, with each crossing narrowed by bisection, so a boundary date is the day the ingress itself falls on.

Jupiter

Saturn

Rahu and Ketu always sit exactly opposite each other. Rahu is in Aquarius and Ketu in Leo until 5 December 2026, then Rahu in Capricorn and Ketu in Cancer until 23 June 2028, then Rahu in Sagittarius and Ketu in Gemini until 10 January 2030, then Rahu in Scorpio.

Those repeated backward steps are retrograde motion, meaning the planet appears to move backwards against the zodiac for part of each year. They matter here more than they usually would, because they split what looks like one long season into two with a gap in the middle. Saturn's return to Pisces between 20 October 2027 and 23 February 2028 is four months long, and for the rising signs it affects it lands squarely in an application cycle.

Two of those placements carry a dignity, which is the classical strength a planet has in a given sign. Jupiter in Cancer is exalted, meaning Cancer is the sign in which Jupiter is strongest, so the spans to 31 October 2026 and from 25 January to 25 June 2027 hold the strongest Jupiter available in this whole cycle. Saturn in Aries is debilitated, the opposite case, so from 3 June 2027 Saturn works at low strength except for the four months it spends back in Pisces. Neither adjective is good news or bad news on its own. Dignity describes how forcefully a planet delivers whatever it is delivering, and which house it delivers to is set by your rising sign.

Your rising sign already gives you dated windows

The section below needs nothing from you but your lagna. Every span below comes from a daily walk from 1 September 2026 to 30 June 2030, checking each day whether Jupiter, Saturn or Rahu is standing in your 9th or your 12th house.

Five rising signs get Jupiter standing in the 9th house at some point in these forty-six months: Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces, in that order of arrival. In a sample of 8,526 real birth moments between 1997 and 2006, described in full further down, those five rising signs accounted for 3,197 charts, which is 37.50%. Three rising signs get Saturn standing in the 12th: Aries, Taurus and Gemini. Cancer, Leo, Virgo and Libra rising get neither of the two headline transits at any point in the window, and their contact with the distance houses is the lighter kind covered in the next table.

Read the dignity along the row, because it changes what the span means. Scorpio rising is the only case in this window where Jupiter reaches the 9th house while exalted, since Scorpio's 9th house is Cancer and Jupiter is exalted in Cancer. That makes the two spans to 31 October 2026 and from 25 January to 25 June 2027 the single strongest 9th-house Jupiter transit available to anyone here. Taurus rising is the mirror image: Taurus's 12th house is Aries, where Saturn is debilitated, so a Taurus-rising candidate gets Saturn sitting in the house of foreign residence for most of three years at its weakest.

Strength is not the same as favour, and this is where most transit writing goes wrong. Dignity says how forcefully a planet delivers what it is delivering. A debilitated Saturn in the 12th is not a blocked move, it is a slow and administratively heavy one, with paperwork that takes longer than the same paperwork takes other people. An exalted Jupiter in the 12th, which Leo rising gets to 31 October 2026 and again from 25 January to 25 June 2027, is a strong pull to a distant place and also a strong pull on the bank balance, because the 12th holds both.

The lighter contact, by aspect

A planet also reaches a house it is not standing in, through its drishti, which is the directional gaze classical astrology gives each planet. Jupiter looks at the 5th, 7th and 9th signs from itself. Saturn looks at the 3rd, 7th and 10th. That gaze is what reaches the four rising signs the previous table leaves untouched, and it fills in the long empty stretches in the other eight.

Now a result that will save you from waiting for something that is not coming. Across all twelve rising signs, over all 1,399 days from 1 September 2026 to 30 June 2030, there is not one single day on which Jupiter stands in the 9th house and Saturn stands in the 12th house of the same chart. Zero, for every lagna. Count the lighter aspect contact as well and nine of the twelve rising signs get at least one overlapping span, while Virgo, Libra and Sagittarius get none at all.

That matters because "wait for the good transit" is the most common advice attached to this question and, for the two headline transits together, there is nothing to wait for inside the next four years. The overlaps that do exist are worth having, and the longest of them runs 155 days. Taurus and Cancer rising both get that one, from 24 July to 26 December 2028, and a second of 132 days from 29 March to 8 August 2029. Capricorn rising gets 89 days from 26 November 2027 to 23 February 2028. Aries rising gets 85 days from 31 October 2026 to 24 January 2027 and 38 more from 20 October to 26 November 2027. If you are holding out for a sky that lines up completely, the computation says it does not, and the decision has to be made on the ordinary one.

One caution on using these tables: they are built on Whole-Sign houses, where each house is one entire sign counted from the rising sign, which is the system AstroMedha computes in throughout. A chart drawn under a different house system can place a planet one house away from where these tables put it.

Mercury retrograde and the application paperwork

An overseas application is mostly documents. Transcripts, statements of purpose, recommendation portals, fee payments, a visa file, a financial affidavit. Mercury carries calculation, memory and paperwork, so its retrograde spans are the one fast-planet event that belongs in this calendar.

The instruction attached to these weeks is narrow, and the narrowness is the point. They suit revision, re-reading and re-checking better than first-pass work or a first submission. If a registration, a fee payment, a document upload or an application deadline falls inside one, verify the details twice before you send it.

What not to do with them matters more. Your test date is set by the test provider and your deadlines are set by the universities, and neither is yours to move. A page that tells you a fixed date is cursed has frightened you and given you nothing to do about it. A test that lands inside one of these spans is not a lost cause: it rewards the candidate who has already been over the ground, which is the same candidate it would have rewarded in any other week.

The test date is not the question. The window is.

An IELTS result is valid for a fixed period set by the test provider, which is two years at the time of writing, and you should check that against your own test booking rather than against this page. Universities set their own intakes, most running a main autumn one and a smaller January one, with some countries adding a third. Those two facts together mean the distance between your test and your arrival is usually somewhere between nine months and two years, and every one of those months is governed by a different rung of your period ladder.

Vimshottari, the 120-year cycle of planetary periods that Vedic astrology times a life by, divides your life into nine major periods called mahadashas. Inside each mahadasha runs an antardasha, a sub-period ruled by each of the nine planets in turn. Inside each of those runs a pratyantar, a sub-period one level smaller again. The starting point of the whole ladder is fixed by your nakshatra, the 27-part lunar division your Moon occupied at birth, and by how far through it the Moon had already travelled.

Here is how much that ladder moves inside one application cycle. Taking the 8,526-chart candidate sample described below and a fifteen-month window from 1 September 2026 to 1 December 2027, which is a realistic distance from booking a test to starting a course:

• Every single chart in the sample crosses two or more pratyantar periods inside those fifteen months. Not most of them. All 8,526.
• The median count is seven, the mean is 8.53, and the busiest chart in the sample crosses twenty-nine.
• The median pratyantar length in that sample is 51 days, with a mean of 64.4 days and a range from 5 days to 202 days.
• 66.36% pass through two or more antardashas inside the window, so for two candidates in three the sub-period lord itself turns over between the test and the intake. 51.11% cross exactly one antardasha boundary, 13.31% cross two, and 1.94% cross three or more.
• 9.27% change mahadasha entirely, meaning the major period governing their arrival is not the one that governed their test.

So the question "what is my dasha on my test date" answers a small fraction of what a candidate needs. The period running when you sit the paper is usually not the period running when you file the visa, and for one candidate in eleven it is not even the same major period. Reading your own chart against this exam means reading the whole span from the test date to the arrival date, not the test date alone.

Why your birth time decides this, and by how much

Everything above is the same sky for every candidate. What differs is where that sky lands in your chart and which period you are running while it does. Both are set by your birth time, and the size of that effect is easy to underestimate in one direction and easy to overestimate in the other, so here it is measured both ways.

Comparing a birth at 00:00 with a birth at 23:59 on the same date, across 3,652 dates from 1997 to 2006, cast for New Delhi:

Two very different numbers sit in that table and both are correct. The period ladder swings almost completely across a single day, because the Moon covers about 13 degrees a day while a nakshatra spans 13 degrees 20 minutes, so the Moon changes nakshatra within nearly every date, and the nakshatra fixes which planet's period you are born into and how much of it had already elapsed. The rising sign barely moves across a full day, because a sidereal day is 23 hours 56 minutes, so a birth twenty-four hours later returns the ascendant to within about a degree of where it started.

That second number is misleading if you stop there, because nobody is uncertain about their birth time by exactly twenty-four hours. The real uncertainty is an hour or two. Taking 2,924 same-date pairs at four different times of day:

Two candidates born in the same hospital thirty minutes apart get a different set of distance combinations about a quarter of the time. At two hours apart they almost always do. This is why the second half of this page needs your details and cannot be written in advance, and it is also why finding your real birth time is worth the phone call. If your certificate says 4am and your mother says it was closer to 5, that gap is large enough to change the answer.

There is one more piece of evidence on this, and it comes from the software rather than the sky. AstroMedha's engine refuses to return a rising sign at all when the birth time given is the 12:00 noon placeholder, on the stated grounds that a wrong ascendant is worse than none. That refusal is why the candidate sample below runs at seven birth times a day rather than eight: the noon slot returns no ascendant and every chart cast at it was excluded from the counts.

What candidates your age are actually running

The period ladder is not evenly spread across an age cohort, because the cycle is 120 years long and everyone born in a given decade sits at a similar point on it. Sampling 8,526 charts of births every three days from 1 January 1997 to 31 December 2006, at seven times a day, cast for New Delhi, and reading the ladder as of 1 September 2027:

Rahu and Jupiter together cover 39.83% of this cohort. That is structural rather than an accident of the sample: Rahu runs 18 years and Jupiter 16, two of the longest periods in the cycle, so a wide age band falls inside them at once. Rahu matters here beyond its share, because it is the one body the settlement rules treat as carrying unfamiliar ground on its own account rather than through a house it rules. 33.80% of the sample has Rahu as either its major or its sub-period lord on that date.

Four more numbers from the same sample bear directly on the question this page is named after.

36.89% have either the mahadasha lord or the antardasha lord ruling their 9th or 12th house on 1 September 2027. The individual rates are 10.90% for the 9th lord as major-period lord, 10.76% for the 12th lord, 12.32% and 12.37% for the same two as sub-period lord. So for more than a third of this cohort, the period lord running during a 2027 application season is itself one of the two distance lords, which is a computed alignment between the timing and the question.

22.06% change mahadasha between 1 September 2026 and 1 September 2029, and 99.51% cross at least one antardasha boundary in the same three years. Only 42 charts out of 8,526 sit inside one unchanged sub-period across the whole span. Whatever your chart says about this year, it is very unlikely to still be saying it in three.

89.30% carry at least one of the twenty-seven settlement combinations the engine tests for, and 30.42% carry at least one in the strongest tier. Read that carefully, because it is the number most likely to be misused. Carrying a foreign-settlement combination is ordinary. Nine candidates in ten have one, the median chart has two, and 912 charts in the sample have none at all. A page that tells you a combination in your chart means you are destined to live abroad is describing something nine people in ten also have. The rare configuration is the exchange between the 9th and 12th lords, where each sits in the other's house, and that appears in 32 charts out of 8,526, which is 0.38%.

Mercury is combust in 42.89% of these charts, meaning it sits close enough to the Sun to be burnt by it, which classically dims the faculty it carries. Mercury is the significator of analysis, memory and every written paper, meaning it is the planet whose condition describes that faculty itself rather than one area of life. For a language test that makes it the single most relevant condition on the chart. For scale beside it: Venus is combust in 17.03%, Mars in 15.59%, Saturn in 9.82%, Jupiter in 7.89% and the Moon in 6.67%. Mercury is retrograde at birth in 16.27% of the sample and Jupiter in 27.79%.

Combust means close enough to the Sun that classical practice treats the planet as burnt.

Significator means the planet that stands for a given subject in every chart.

One thing this page will not do with those numbers is place you inside them. AstroMedha removed a percentile ranking from its own settlement reading on 9 August 2026 and left the reason in the source code: charts are not people, none of those charts was ever checked against whether anybody moved anywhere, and compressing a candidate into a band word is a verdict the instrument cannot support in either direction. The base rates are here so you can see how common a thing is. They are not a score.

The same sky, two real charts, two different reads

Here are two charts computed end to end. Both are real birth moments, named in full so anyone can reproduce them in the free kundli tool. Both candidates would be applying into the same intakes.

Chart A: 1 December 2004, 11:15 IST, Pune

Capricorn rising at 18.21 degrees, in the nakshatra Shravana. The Moon sits at 3.57 degrees of Cancer, in Pushya, in the 7th house, in its own sign, meaning Cancer is the sign the Moon rules and it works there without being propped up.

This chart carries the rare configuration named above. Its 9th house is Virgo, ruled by Mercury, and Mercury sits in the 12th. Its 12th house is Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter, and Jupiter sits in the 9th. Each distance lord occupies the other's house, which is the parivartana, an exchange that classical texts read as binding two houses tightly to each other. Three separate strong-tier combinations fire off that one arrangement: the 9th lord in the 12th, the 12th lord in the 9th, and the exchange itself. Two lighter ones follow, Mercury standing alone in the 12th and Rahu in the 4th house of roots, which reads as restlessness about where you live rather than as a departure date.

The 4th house is worth pausing on, because it is the counterweight to the other two. Its lord Mars sits in the 10th house of work, which is one of the four angular houses the tradition treats as the corners a chart stands on, so this part of the reading is structurally supported and visible rather than hidden. Rahu sits in the 4th house itself, and the line attached to that placement is that the place you are from rarely feels final. So the 4th here is neither weak nor settled: it is active, well supported, and restless at the same time. That is a more usable thing to know before choosing between a course near family and a course eight thousand kilometres away than any verdict about whether a move happens.

The education read on this chart, computed across the six learning houses: the 5th house of intelligence is Taurus and its lord Venus is in its own sign in the 10th; the 6th of competition and the 9th of higher learning share one lord in Mercury, sitting in the 12th, which is the classical viparita, where the lord of one difficult house occupying another tends to let the obstacles cancel each other out; the 2nd of memory has Saturn in the 7th. Of the three learning significators, the Moon is in its own sign, and Mercury and Jupiter both work at ordinary strength with no dignity flag either way. The study-style read that comes out of it is "You learn in a settled routine", led by the Moon, with the note that output tracks state more than effort here, so a fixed place, a fixed hour and protected sleep do more than adding hours to a chaotic week.

The pratyantar sequence inside that long Venus sub-period runs Venus to 15 June 2027, Sun to 6 August 2027, Moon to 31 October 2027, Mars to 31 December 2027, Rahu to 3 June 2028, Jupiter to 19 October 2028, Saturn to 1 April 2029, Mercury to 25 August 2029, then Ketu to 25 October 2029. Note what the major period means here. Mercury runs this candidate's chart until 2040, and Mercury is the lord of their 9th house sitting in their 12th, so the whole application decade is governed by a planet that carries both distance houses at once.

The strongest window in a twelve-year horizon is that last one, running from August 2035, and it would be dishonest to lead with it for a candidate asking about 2027. The near-term one is Mercury with Venus, and it is long at 1,035 days, which means this candidate's sub-period lord does not change once between December 2026 and October 2029. Two out of three charts in the sample pass through more than one antardasha in fifteen months, so a single one covering thirty-four is on the flat end of the distribution. It means the pratyantar sequence listed above carries all of this chart's movement through the application years.

The transit contact on the distance houses for Capricorn rising: Jupiter stands in the 9th house from 26 November 2027 to 25 August 2029, and that span is broken rather than continuous. Jupiter steps back into Leo for the 147 days from 28 February to 24 July 2028, and on into Libra for the 93 days from 26 December 2028 to 29 March 2029, so Jupiter actually occupies the 9th for 398 of those 638 days. Saturn aspects both the 9th and the 12th from 1 September 2026 to 23 February 2028, and that span is broken too. Saturn casts both of those aspects from Pisces, and it spends the 139 days from 3 June to 20 October 2027 in Aries, where it reaches neither house. Rahu enters the 12th house on 24 June 2028 and stays until 10 January 2030.

The dated education windows for this chart, over 40 months from 1 September 2026:

The single best window for this candidate on a study-abroad question opens on 26 November 2027, and the wording attached to it in the engine's own classification names the case directly: a supportive stretch for university decisions, a new mentor, a research direction, or a study-abroad move. It is not open now. A candidate on this chart who forces an application into the 2027 autumn intake is working against their own dated map, and one who aims at autumn 2028 is applying inside their strongest window with the offer landing in it.

Finally, the destination panel. This is the relocated chart: the same birth moment observed from a different place, so every planet keeps its exact sign and degree while the rising sign changes and with it every house. Planets moving into an angle, meaning the 1st, 4th, 7th or 10th house, or into a trine, meaning the 5th or the 9th, count for a destination. Planets falling into a 6th, 8th or 12th they were not already in count against it. The 4th and the 10th are weighted double because the question is living and working there. Nothing here maps a country to a planet.

Chart B: 19 April 2002, 06:40 IST, Guwahati

Taurus rising at 4.77 degrees, in Krittika. The Moon sits at 16.50 degrees of Gemini, in Ardra, in the 2nd house.

Three planets sit in the 12th house here, and one of them is the Sun exalted. The Sun rules this chart's 4th house of home and roots, so the strongest planet in the chart is the lord of home, sitting in the house of distant places. That is the first of two strong-tier combinations. The second is the lagna lord, Venus, also in the 12th, which classically reads as the person themselves being drawn towards the unfamiliar. Four supporting combinations follow: the 12th lord Mars sitting on the ascendant, the 2nd lord of earnings in the 12th, Rahu sharing a sign with the 12th lord, and the 9th and 12th lords together in the 1st house. Eight combinations in total against Chart A's five, though none of them is the rare exchange.

The 9th house reads very differently from Chart A's. It is Capricorn, ruled by Saturn, and Saturn sits in the 1st house, which the education read calls a house of grace, meaning this part of study tends to arrive without being forced. The 9th house itself holds no planets. So in this chart the house of higher learning is quiet and well placed while the house of distance is crowded, which is close to the reverse of Chart A, where the two distance houses are locked to each other and the 12th holds one planet.

The education read is where this chart becomes unusual. Its 2nd house of memory, its 4th house of the study base and its 5th house of intelligence are ruled by Mercury, the Sun and Mercury again, and all three of those lords sit in the 12th house. The reading attached to that is the same for each: this part of study works best away from the crowd, in a quiet room, a different city, a route nobody else took. Read against a study-abroad question, three of the six learning houses are pointing at the same place the 12th house does.

Then the complication, and it is a real one for a language test. Mercury is combust here, sitting close enough to the Sun to be burnt by it, which dims analysis and memory under pressure and noise and shows the faculty best in quiet conditions. Mercury is the significator of every written paper. So for this candidate the condition to plan around is noise and pressure rather than ability. Two things follow. Where a booking offers a choice of format or centre, take the quieter one. And sit full timed mocks under conditions at least as hard as the real sitting, at a desk you do not control and with people around you, so that the hall is not the first time the pressure arrives. That is a practical instruction, and it is the sort of thing a general page about IELTS cannot produce, because it does not know whether your Mercury is burnt.

Two education combinations fire in this chart against none in Chart A. Gajakesari, which is Jupiter sitting in the 1st, 4th, 7th or 10th house counted from the Moon, read as resilience and recovery after adversity. Budha-Aditya, which is the Sun and Mercury together, read as sharp analysis and communication. The study-style read is "You learn from a teacher and a why", led by Jupiter, with the added note that the 5th lord sits in a difficult house so a new topic often takes a second and third pass, which is a pace rather than a limit and argues for starting earlier rather than working longer at the end.

The ladder:

From 1 September 2026 the pratyantar sequence inside that Mercury sub-period runs Venus to 6 January 2027, Sun to 24 February 2027, Moon to 17 May 2027, Mars to 14 July 2027, Rahu to 8 December 2027, Jupiter to 17 April 2028, then Saturn to 20 September 2028. Saturn, the major-period lord across this whole cycle, is this chart's 9th lord. Mercury, the sub-period lord until September 2028, is one of the three planets standing in the 12th. So both rungs of the ladder carry a distance role at once, which is why the running window scores as high as it does.

This candidate's strongest distance window is running right now and closes on 20 September 2028. That is the opposite of Chart A, whose equivalent window has not opened yet.

The transit contact for Taurus rising: Saturn stands in the 12th house from 3 June 2027 to 17 April 2030, with the gaps its retrograde motion creates, and Saturn is debilitated in Aries throughout. Rahu stands in the 9th house from 5 December 2026 to 23 June 2028.

Jupiter never reaches the 9th house in this window and only aspects it, in two broken stretches. The first runs from 1 September 2026 to 26 June 2027, cast from Cancer, and stops between 31 October 2026 and 25 January 2027 while Jupiter passes through Leo. The second runs from 26 November 2027 to 25 August 2029, cast from Virgo, and stops for the same two Leo and Libra passages that interrupt Chart A's 9th house above.

The dated education windows for this chart tell the same story from a different angle:

This candidate never gets a higher-study window in these forty months, because Jupiter never reaches their 9th house. What they get instead is an application window open now and again from 25 January to 26 June 2027, which is precisely the paperwork half of the question. Chart A has the opposite shape. Chart A's best window is a 9th-house window that opens in late 2027; Chart B's is an application window closing in mid 2027 with no 9th-house window at all.

They also enter Sade Sati, the roughly seven-and-a-half-year span where Saturn crosses the 12th, 1st and 2nd houses from the Moon, on 8 August 2029, the day Saturn enters Taurus, the sign before their Gemini Moon. The window table above only changes name on 25 August, because until that date Jupiter in Virgo is the louder of the two contacts and the window is named for the louder one. Saturn then retreats into Aries on 5 October 2029 and does not return to Taurus until 17 April 2030, so the opening third arrives in two pieces rather than one. The instruction attached to that in the engine's own wording is to keep the routine small and unbreakable, protect sleep, and put a big attempt after it passes where the choice exists. Neither candidate is in it today.

What the two charts show side by side

Same sky, same intakes, opposite advice. Chart A's supportive windows for a university decision open on 26 November 2027 and again on 24 July 2028, which brackets an autumn 2028 intake at both ends: the application falls in the first and the arrival falls in the second. Chart B has no such window at all in these forty months, and its application window is open now and again from 25 January to 26 June 2027, with its strongest distance period running until 20 September 2028. On destination, the four western European rows sit at +12 for Chart A and at -1 for Chart B, computed by the same rule with no country ever attached to a planet. Australia and New Zealand run +11 for A and -4 for B. A candidate following Chart B's destination list while holding Chart A's chart would be pointed at the two places their own relocated chart likes least.

Every window above is phrased as what the period supports, and that wording is exact rather than cautious. "This stretch supports a university decision" is a statement about a period. "You will get into this university" is a statement about an admissions committee, and there is nothing in a birth chart that reads one.

Reading your own window: the part that needs your birth details

Everything above is either the same for everybody or keyed to your rising sign alone. Your own read needs the three inputs that fix the ladder and the houses: your birth date, your birth time and your birth place. Here is what those produce.

Which major period, sub-period and sub-sub-period cover your test date, your application deadlines, your visa filing and your arrival, with every boundary dated to the day. Every chart in the sample crosses two or more pratyantar periods in a fifteen-month cycle and the median is seven, so this is the layer the tables above cannot reach.
• Your 9th, 12th and 4th houses read individually: which sign holds each, where its lord sits, what condition that lord is in, who else occupies the house. Chart A's two distance lords in each other's houses and Chart B's three planets in the 12th led by an exalted Sun are both computed features rather than interpretations laid on top.
• Which of the twenty-seven settlement combinations your chart actually carries, each one reported with the placement it was found in so you can check it against your own kundli, and each one tiered by weight. Absence is reported as absence; there is no partial credit.
• Your dated distance windows, in the form both worked charts show: the periods run by the planets that carry a foreign role in your chart specifically, rather than a general table saying Rahu periods suit travel.
• Your six learning houses and three learning significators, with dignity, motion and combustion. Mercury is the significator of every written paper and it is combust in 42.89% of this cohort, which is a condition worth knowing before you book a test date.
• Thirteen destinations ranked on your relocated chart, which is the layer nothing general can produce, since the ranking turns on where every planet lands when the same birth moment is read from Toronto rather than from the town you were born in.

If what you actually want is a yes or a no

People ask for one. The message quoted at the top of this page asks for one, and so does another in the same corpus, from a candidate sitting a different paper: "I want to know that could I clear this Exam give me a yes or No answer please."

A test result is a snapshot of preparation on a single morning, and there is nothing in a birth chart that reads a listening section. What a chart holds is the shape of the twelve to twenty-four months around that morning: whether the paperwork season is heavy or light, whether the university decision falls in a supportive stretch, whether your funding sits in a period run by a planet that carries expense, and whether the place you are aiming at rearranges your chart well or badly. Those are the decisions still open to you. The band score is decided by preparation, and the number of full timed mocks you sit is the part of preparation most under your control.

One thing follows from that which is worth saying plainly, because the opposite gets said often. If your read comes back heavy across your test date, that is not an instruction to skip the test. It means the effort is real and the fatigue arrives earlier than usual, so the response that helps is to make the routine smaller and unbreakable rather than larger, and to avoid stacking a test attempt and a visa deadline inside the same window where you have the choice. Where you do not have the choice, sit the test.

The last point is the one the numbers make on their own. 99.51% of this cohort crosses at least one sub-period boundary inside any three-year span, and 22.06% change major period entirely. So the configuration governing an attempt this year is usually not the one governing an attempt in three, and a hard year is not a closed door. It is a hard year.
