Why You Feel Things The Way You Do

How your mind actually settles, what tends to stay with you longer than it stays with other people, and where putting a thing down is already easy for you. Read from your Moon, your 4th, your 8th and 12th, and Ketu. It contains no prediction about how you will feel.

What is inside

  • How your mind comes back to rest, read from your Moon and its element

The Moon is what the tradition reads for the mind, and its element says how yours settles after something disturbs it: quickly or slowly, by talking or by withdrawing. The report reads yours specifically.

  • What sits on your Moon or looks at it, and what that is like on an ordinary day

Planets placed with your Moon, or aspecting it, colour the emotional weather. The report says which ones do that in your chart and describes what it feels like on a normal day, not at a crisis.

  • Your 4th house: the ground underneath you, home, and the mother

The 4th is read for the sense of having somewhere to stand: home, the mother, and inner security. It is read through its lord and whatever sits in it, so it says something about your chart in particular.

  • The 8th and the 12th read honestly, as change and release rather than as doom

These two houses attract the worst writing in astrology. Here they are read for what they actually govern, which is upheaval that changes you and the act of letting go, without the fear that usually comes attached.

  • Where Ketu makes letting go already native to you

Ketu is the placement associated with detachment. Where it sits says which areas of life you release easily, often without noticing that other people find the same thing hard.

  • What the chapter you are in is asking of you, and small practices from your own chart

The dasha period you are running, read as a demand rather than a forecast, with a few practices chosen from the placements in your own chart rather than from a general list.

There is a particular kind of question that no horoscope answers. Why does a small thing sit on me for three days when other people shake it off by lunch. Why do I go quiet instead of saying the thing. Why can I let some losses go and not others. These are not questions about the future, which is what most astrology sells, and they are the ones people actually carry around.

Vedic astrology has a great deal to say about them, and almost none of it gets written down properly. The Moon in this tradition is the mind itself, so the sign it stands in, the star it stands in, and whatever sits with it describe the conditions your thinking happens under. The 4th house is the ground you rest on. The 8th is change you did not choose and the 12th is what you set down, and both of those get written as doom on the internet when read straight they are about depth and release. Ketu marks the one part of life where you arrived with the appetite already spent, which makes it the cheapest place in your whole chart to practise letting go.

This reading is those five things, computed from your birth details and written plainly. What it will not do is tell you when you will feel better. Nobody can date the end of a hard stretch or put a month on a grief, and a report that tries is doing something other than reading a chart. It contains no diagnosis, no medical or psychiatric claim, and nothing that stands in for talking to a person. It is a description of the equipment you were handed. Delivered by email, computed privately, no account needed.

How it works

  1. 1Enter your birth details. Date, time and place sharpen the house reading; without a time we read the houses from your Moon and say so on the page.
  2. 2We read your Moon and everything touching it, your 4th, 8th and 12th houses through their rulers, where Ketu sits, and the dasha chapter you are living through.
  3. 3You receive the full reading by email, with practices chosen from your own chart's weak links rather than from a general list.

Questions

Is this going to tell me something frightening?

No. The 8th house, the 12th, Ketu and Saturn are the four placements popular astrology writes as doom, and almost none of that is honest. Read properly they are about change, release, detachment and endurance, and that is the register this reading uses throughout. If your chart has something heavy in it, you are told what the tradition says about carrying it, never what is going to happen to you.

Is this therapy, or a replacement for it?

No, and it does not try to be. There is no diagnosis in it, no medical or psychiatric language, and nothing offered as care. It is a description of how your chart is put together. If what you are carrying has gone past heavy, the reading says plainly what we would say here: tell a person, not a page.

Will it tell me when I will feel better?

No, and you should be careful with anything that says it can. Nobody can date the end of a grief or put a month on a hard stretch of a life. The only dates in this reading are the real boundaries of the dasha chapter you are in, and those describe what a period asks of you rather than how you will feel inside it.

Do I need my exact birth time?

It helps. The time places the ascendant, which is what puts your 4th, 8th and 12th houses in the right place. Without one you still get your Moon read in full, your birth star, Ketu, the running chapter and the practices, and the report tells you on the page which part is counted from the Moon instead.

How is this different from the Year-Ahead Report?

The Year-Ahead Report dates the coming twelve months. This one dates nothing except the dasha you are already in, because it is about how you are built rather than about what is coming. If you want to know when to act, buy that one. If you want to know why you are like this, buy this one.
