When Does My Income Actually Rise?
Income rises in periods you can put dates on, and Vedic astrology dates them from two separate calculations. The first is which planet's period is running in your own chart. The second is where Jupiter is standing in the sky, which is the same for everybody and can be published years in advance.
The second calculation is on this page in full, worked out to the day through August 2029. The first one needs your date, time and place of birth, because it comes from the exact position of the Moon at the minute you were born and from the sign that was rising on the eastern horizon at that minute. Four worked charts below show what that calculation produces, including one where the answer is no, so the part behind the birth-data gate is a known quantity before you hand anything over.
The two houses money is read from
A Vedic chart divides the sky into twelve houses counted from the lagna, which is the sign rising on the eastern horizon at the moment of birth. Money is read from two of them.
The 2nd house is what you gather and hold: savings, family money, the value of what you own, and your own earning voice. The 11th house is what arrives: gains, income, windfalls, and the networks that carry them to you. A raise is an 11th house event. Still having it in March is a 2nd house one. Most people asking when their income will rise are asking about the 11th and then finding out, a year later, that they needed the 2nd.
Neither house gets read by looking at it. It gets read through its lord, which is the planet that rules the sign sitting on that house. If Scorpio falls on your 2nd house, Mars is your 2nd lord, and Mars now carries your money question wherever Mars happens to stand in your chart and whenever Mars gets a period. That displacement is the whole mechanism of Vedic timing, and it is why two people born under the same rising sign can have money arrive in different decades.
Because the houses are counted in whole signs from the lagna, the sign on your 2nd and 11th, and so their rulers, follow entirely from your rising sign:
| Rising sign | 2nd house sign | 2nd lord | 11th house sign | 11th lord |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Aries | Taurus | Venus | Aquarius | Saturn |
| Taurus | Gemini | Mercury | Pisces | Jupiter |
| Gemini | Cancer | Moon | Aries | Mars |
| Cancer | Leo | Sun | Taurus | Venus |
| Leo | Virgo | Mercury | Gemini | Mercury |
| Virgo | Libra | Venus | Cancer | Moon |
| Libra | Scorpio | Mars | Leo | Sun |
| Scorpio | Sagittarius | Jupiter | Virgo | Mercury |
| Sagittarius | Capricorn | Saturn | Libra | Venus |
| Capricorn | Aquarius | Saturn | Scorpio | Mars |
| Aquarius | Pisces | Jupiter | Sagittarius | Jupiter |
| Pisces | Aries | Mars | Capricorn | Saturn |
Two rising signs have one planet on both money houses. Leo rising has Mercury on the 2nd and the 11th. Aquarius rising has Jupiter on both. For those two the entire money question rides on a single planet's periods, which are fewer and longer than a split would give. The fourth worked chart below is an Aquarius rising chart, and that concentration is what decides its answer.
If you do not know your rising sign, that is because it needs a birth time. The ascendant moves through all twelve signs in a day, roughly one sign every two hours, and where it sits also depends on the latitude of the birthplace. An error of two hours moves your 2nd and 11th houses by a full sign each and changes both lords, which turns the answer into a different answer rather than a slightly blurred one. AstroMedha does not guess it: with no birth time the chart is computed with no ascendant at all and read from the Moon's sign instead, and the reading names which parts are unavailable rather than asserting a rising sign it cannot know.
Which houses your running period actually owns
The lord table above answers half the question. The other half is the reverse lookup: your current period belongs to some planet, and you need to know what that planet owns in your chart. Every planet rules two signs except the Sun and the Moon, which rule one each, so each rising sign produces a fixed map:
| Rising sign | Sun | Moon | Mars | Mercury | Jupiter | Venus | Saturn |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Aries | 5 | 4 | 1, 8 | 3, 6 | 9, 12 | 2, 7 | 10, 11 |
| Taurus | 4 | 3 | 7, 12 | 2, 5 | 8, 11 | 1, 6 | 9, 10 |
| Gemini | 3 | 2 | 6, 11 | 1, 4 | 7, 10 | 5, 12 | 8, 9 |
| Cancer | 2 | 1 | 5, 10 | 3, 12 | 6, 9 | 4, 11 | 7, 8 |
| Leo | 1 | 12 | 4, 9 | 2, 11 | 5, 8 | 3, 10 | 6, 7 |
| Virgo | 12 | 11 | 3, 8 | 1, 10 | 4, 7 | 2, 9 | 5, 6 |
| Libra | 11 | 10 | 2, 7 | 9, 12 | 3, 6 | 1, 8 | 4, 5 |
| Scorpio | 10 | 9 | 1, 6 | 8, 11 | 2, 5 | 7, 12 | 3, 4 |
| Sagittarius | 9 | 8 | 5, 12 | 7, 10 | 1, 4 | 6, 11 | 2, 3 |
| Capricorn | 8 | 7 | 4, 11 | 6, 9 | 3, 12 | 5, 10 | 1, 2 |
| Aquarius | 7 | 6 | 3, 10 | 5, 8 | 2, 11 | 4, 9 | 1, 12 |
| Pisces | 6 | 5 | 2, 9 | 4, 7 | 1, 10 | 3, 8 | 11, 12 |
Find your rising sign, then find the planet whose period you are running. If a 2 or an 11 appears in that cell, your current period is carried by a money lord. If it does not, it is not, whatever else that planet is doing for you.
Rahu and Ketu are missing from the table on purpose. Neither rules a sign in the whole-sign scheme this product computes with, so a Rahu or Ketu period owns no house and cannot be a 2nd or 11th lord period. It can still be a consequential period. It just is not this kind of one, and a reading that tells you your Rahu period is a money period is reading something other than house rulership.
The first clock: your dasha ladder
Vedic timing runs on vimshottari, which is a 120-year cycle that hands each of nine planets a fixed span of years in a fixed order. The order and the spans are the same for everyone. What differs is where you enter the cycle, and that is set by the exact position of the Moon at birth inside its nakshatra, which is one of the twenty-seven star segments the zodiac divides into.
| Planet | Years | Planet | Years | Planet | Years |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ketu | 7 | Moon | 10 | Jupiter | 16 |
| Venus | 20 | Mars | 7 | Saturn | 19 |
| Sun | 6 | Rahu | 18 | Mercury | 17 |
The sequence runs Ketu, Venus, Sun, Moon, Mars, Rahu, Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury, then back to Ketu.
The top level is the mahadasha, the major period, which runs from six years to twenty. That is too coarse for a money question. Nobody plans a career against a nineteen-year window. So every mahadasha subdivides into nine antardasha, which are sub-periods running in the same planetary order and in proportion to the same year counts, and this is the level a Vedic reading actually answers "when" at. The full grid, in months:
| Major period | Ketu | Venus | Sun | Moon | Mars | Rahu | Jupiter | Saturn | Mercury |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ketu (7y) | 4.9 | 14.0 | 4.2 | 7.0 | 4.9 | 12.6 | 11.2 | 13.3 | 11.9 |
| Venus (20y) | 14.0 | 40.0 | 12.0 | 20.0 | 14.0 | 36.0 | 32.0 | 38.0 | 34.0 |
| Sun (6y) | 4.2 | 12.0 | 3.6 | 6.0 | 4.2 | 10.8 | 9.6 | 11.4 | 10.2 |
| Moon (10y) | 7.0 | 20.0 | 6.0 | 10.0 | 7.0 | 18.0 | 16.0 | 19.0 | 17.0 |
| Mars (7y) | 4.9 | 14.0 | 4.2 | 7.0 | 4.9 | 12.6 | 11.2 | 13.3 | 11.9 |
| Rahu (18y) | 12.6 | 36.0 | 10.8 | 18.0 | 12.6 | 32.4 | 28.8 | 34.2 | 30.6 |
| Jupiter (16y) | 11.2 | 32.0 | 9.6 | 16.0 | 11.2 | 28.8 | 25.6 | 30.4 | 27.2 |
| Saturn (19y) | 13.3 | 38.0 | 11.4 | 19.0 | 13.3 | 34.2 | 30.4 | 36.1 | 32.3 |
| Mercury (17y) | 11.9 | 34.0 | 10.2 | 17.0 | 11.9 | 30.6 | 27.2 | 32.3 | 28.9 |
Read one row to see how much the answer depends on which major period you are in. Venus's antardasha lasts 12 months inside a Sun major period and 36 months inside a Rahu one. Same planet, same rulerships, three times the runway. Across all 81 combinations the shortest is the Sun's own sub-period inside its own major period at 3.6 months, the longest is Venus inside Venus at 40 months, and the median is 13.3 months. So an honest answer at this level of the ladder is about a year wide, which is the right resolution for a career decision and the wrong one for a date.
Below the antardasha sits the pratyantar, which is the sub-period of the sub-period, computed by the same proportion. These run in weeks. A pratyantar is where a window narrows from "some time next year" to a fortnight, and the first worked chart below has one that is nineteen days long.
The obvious next question is whether every antardasha of your 2nd or 11th lord means more money. It does not, and the reason is the second calculation.
The second clock: where Jupiter is standing
Jupiter circles the zodiac in about twelve years and spends roughly a year in each sign. When it enters the sign sitting on your 2nd or your 11th house, it is transiting a money house, and classical practice reads that as the sky supporting what that house is for. Because Jupiter turns retrograde once a year, meaning it appears to travel backwards against the fixed stars for a few months, a single visit to a sign usually arrives in two or three separate pieces with a gap in the middle.
These are Jupiter's real sidereal positions from today through August 2029, measured against the fixed stars with the Lahiri ayanamsa, which is the reference AstroMedha computes every chart against. Each boundary was found by binary search to the day.
| From | To | Jupiter in | Days |

| 31 Oct 2026 | 25 Jan 2027 | Leo | 85 |
| 25 Jan 2027 | 26 Jun 2027 | Cancer | 152 |
| 26 Jun 2027 | 26 Nov 2027 | Leo | 154 |
| 26 Nov 2027 | 28 Feb 2028 | Virgo | 94 |
| 28 Feb 2028 | 24 Jul 2028 | Leo | 147 |
| 24 Jul 2028 | 26 Dec 2028 | Virgo | 155 |

| 29 Mar 2029 | 25 Aug 2029 | Virgo | 148 |
| 25 Aug 2029 | onward | Libra |
Read the table for what it rules out. Across these thirty-six months Jupiter occupies four signs and only four: Cancer, Leo, Virgo and Libra. It does not enter Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius or Pisces at any point before September 2029. So if neither of your money houses falls in one of those four signs, you get no Jupiter transit to a money house in this window, and no amount of reading around the edges will produce one.
The middle of the table is where the retrograde pattern shows. Jupiter reaches Leo on 31 October 2026, leaves on 25 January 2027, and does not come back until 26 June 2027. Those five months in between are Jupiter back in Cancer, not Jupiter gone. For a Libra rising chart, whose 11th house is Leo, that gap is the difference between a deal that closes in November and the same deal reopening in July.
Crossing the transit table against the rising-sign table gives every reader their own dates:
| Rising sign | Jupiter reaches a money house | Dates | Total days |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aries | no | 0 | |
| Taurus | no | 0 | |
| Gemini | 2nd house (Cancer) | 26 Aug to 31 Oct 2026; 25 Jan to 26 Jun 2027 | 219 |
| Cancer | 2nd house (Leo) | 31 Oct 2026 to 25 Jan 2027; 26 Jun to 26 Nov 2027; 28 Feb to 24 Jul 2028 | 386 |
| Leo | 2nd house (Virgo) | 26 Nov 2027 to 28 Feb 2028; 24 Jul to 26 Dec 2028; 29 Mar to 25 Aug 2029 | 397 |
| Virgo | 11th house (Cancer), later 2nd house (Libra) | 26 Aug to 31 Oct 2026; 25 Jan to 26 Jun 2027; 26 Dec 2028 to 29 Mar 2029 | 312 |
| Libra | 11th house (Leo) | 31 Oct 2026 to 25 Jan 2027; 26 Jun to 26 Nov 2027; 28 Feb to 24 Jul 2028 | 386 |
| Scorpio | 11th house (Virgo) | 26 Nov 2027 to 28 Feb 2028; 24 Jul to 26 Dec 2028; 29 Mar to 25 Aug 2029 | 397 |
| Sagittarius | 11th house (Libra) | 26 Dec 2028 to 29 Mar 2029 | 93 |
| Capricorn | no | 0 | |
| Aquarius | no | 0 | |
| Pisces | no | 0 |
Seven rising signs get at least one Jupiter visit to a money house before September 2029. Five get none. Sagittarius rising gets the thinnest allocation in the set, one 93-day visit to the 11th house in early 2029, with Jupiter returning to that house on 25 August 2029 for the long stay that runs past the end of this window. Gemini rising gets its whole allocation early and then nothing after June 2027. Leo and Scorpio rising get theirs late, with the first arrival in November 2027.
What a window actually is
A period tells you whose turn it is. A transit tells you whether the money house is being fed while that turn runs. Where the two agree, the same effort meets less resistance, and that is the entire claim. The chart names no amount and delivers nothing by itself. What a window is good for is putting the decision inside it: the negotiation, the switch, the raise you have been postponing asking for, the client you have been slow to close, the property you have been meaning to list.
A period with no window is not a period to sit out either. It is a period where the return comes from the 2nd house side of the question, which is savings rate and base, rather than the 11th house side, which is new inflow. The fourth worked chart below is exactly that case, and its most useful feature is that it says so six years ahead.
How often the two clocks agree
To find out how common each situation is, the same calculation was run over 1,500 synthetic birth moments: birth dates drawn uniformly from 1960 to 2005, clock times drawn uniformly across the day, birthplace held fixed at Delhi. For each chart the ladder was computed from that chart's own Moon, the 2nd and 11th lords from that chart's own ascendant, and both were intersected with Jupiter's real sign positions over the thirty-six months from 26 August 2026.
Every chart lands in exactly one of four situations:
| Situation over the next 36 months | Share of the 1,500 charts |
|---|---|
| Both a money lord's sub-period and a Jupiter money-house transit somewhere in the window | 34.3% |
| A money lord's sub-period, no Jupiter transit | 18.1% |
| A Jupiter transit, no money lord's sub-period | 34.1% |
| Neither | 13.4% |
So 52.5% of charts get a sub-period of their 2nd or 11th lord in these three years, and 68.5% get a Jupiter visit to one of those houses. Having both somewhere in the window is not the same as having them at the same time, which is the thing worth waiting for: 24.1% of charts get the two overlapping for at least one day, and for those the median overlap is 148 days, with the longest in the sample at 397 days. Taken separately, the median sub-period window for the charts that have one is 399 days and the median Jupiter window is 386 days.
Three things about those numbers are worth saying plainly. The 68.5% is higher than the seven-in-twelve the rising-sign table would suggest, because ascendant signs do not occupy equal time on the horizon: at Delhi's latitude Cancer through Scorpio rise slowly and are over-represented in any sample drawn on a uniform clock, and those are precisely the signs Jupiter favours this cycle. Change the latitude and that figure moves a few points. The 52.5% does not depend on birthplace at all, because it comes from the Moon.
The third is a limit of the study rather than a finding. It counted sub-periods only. A chart can also be sitting inside a money lord's major period, which is a longer and shallower form of the same support, and the third worked chart below is in exactly that position. Counting major periods as well would push the 52.5% up and the 13.4% down.
So a quarter of charts have the sharp kind of window inside the next three years, where the two calculations agree at the same time. A larger group has one clock running without the other, and their windows are real and slower. The 13.4% with neither have a usable answer too: the money houses stay quiet through 2029, the work that pays in that period is the accumulating kind, and the next activation is a date their own ladder already carries.
What your money lord is actually paid for
Which planet rules your money houses changes what the money is for. These are the channels AstroMedha's wealth reading assigns to each planet, quoted from the table the report itself renders from:
| Money lord | The channel it earns through |
|---|---|
| Sun | authority roles, work carried under your own name, government and institutional clients, anything where the buyer is paying for your standing |
| Moon | consumer-facing and recurring income, food, hospitality, care, property you let rather than trade, and anything the public forms a habit around |
| Mars | technical and engineering work, land and property, competitive deals you personally close, tools and machinery, sport and physical trades |
| Mercury | writing, teaching, analysis, software, broking and commissions, and short contracts where you are paid per piece rather than per year |
| Jupiter | advising, teaching, law, finance, publishing, and fees paid for judgement rather than hours |
| Venus | design, aesthetics, luxury and premium goods, entertainment, vehicles, and money made inside partnerships and negotiated deals |
| Saturn | real estate, large organisations, operations and labour, long-horizon assets, and businesses whose moat is simply that you outlasted everyone |
| Rahu | foreign markets, new technology, unconventional channels and scale, where the edge is being early rather than being established |
| Ketu | narrow specialism, research, wellness and behind-the-scenes work where you are paid for depth almost nobody else has |
The practical use of that table is in the window, not outside it. If your 11th lord is Venus and a Venus window opens in 2028, the version of the pitch that lands is the negotiated, partnered, premium one, and the version that stalls is the volume one. Same window, same effort, different shape.
Where the gains actually reach you
The 11th house says money arrives. Where its lord sits says from where. This is the second table the wealth reading renders from, and it is the one that turns a date into an instruction:
| 11th lord placed in the | Gains reach you through |
|---|---|
| 1st | your own name and initiative, following you personally rather than any vehicle |
| 2nd | what you already own, compounding from the base rather than from new bets |
| 3rd | your own effort, communication and short-range hustle |
| 4th | home, property, land and the family base |
| 5th | creative output, speculation and children |
| 6th | service, competition and resolving what others owe |
| 7th | partners and clients, arriving through the other side of a deal |
| 8th | other people's money: inheritance, insurance, joint funds and windfalls |
| 9th | patrons, mentors, teachers and long-distance or cross-border connections |
| 10th | your profession and public standing, tracking career visibility |
| 11th | networks and groups directly, where the room you are in is itself the income stream |
| 12th | foreign ground, retreat and behind-the-scenes arrangements |
There is one more thing to read off the lord, which is its direction of travel at birth. A money lord that was retrograde at your birth turns its house inward, so money there gets revisited, recovered and re-earned rather than won in a straight line. A money lord moving forward delivers that house in the ordinary way. Both of the Libra rising charts below have a retrograde planet sitting in the 2nd house, and both read differently because of it.
Worked chart 1: both clocks agree
Birth data: 27 June 1995, 14:10, Delhi. A demonstration chart, not a customer's, and every figure below is reproducible from those three inputs.
The chart. Libra rising at 4 degrees 25 minutes, in the nakshatra Chitra. That puts Scorpio on the 2nd house with Mars as its lord, and Leo on the 11th with the Sun as its lord.
Where the money lords sit. Mars, the 2nd lord, is in Leo at 22 degrees, which is the 11th house. The planet ruling what this person keeps stands in the house of what arrives, so the two money houses are wired to each other. The Sun, the 11th lord, is in Gemini in the 9th house, which puts gains in the arena of patrons, mentors and long-distance connections. Jupiter sits in Scorpio, the 2nd house itself, and it was retrograde at birth, so the 2nd house here is one that gets re-earned rather than won cleanly.
The wealth combination. Mercury and Venus sit together in Taurus, in the 8th house. For Libra rising those two rule the 1st and the 9th, and rulers of the money-giving houses joined in one sign make a dhana yoga, which is the classical wealth combination. Venus is in its own sign there, which strengthens it.
Earned or gathered. The D2 hora is the divisional chart, which splits every sign into halves and asks of each planet whether it earns or whether it accumulates. Here the Sun's half holds six bodies, being the Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Rahu and Ketu, and the Moon's half holds three, being Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. The weight sits on the Sun's side, which reads as self-earned rather than flowing in from elsewhere. Jupiter lands exalted in this division, meaning placed in the sign where it is strongest.
The ladder. A Jupiter major period runs from 2 November 2014 to 2 November 2030. The sub-periods that touch the window:
| Sub-period | From | To | Houses that lord rules |
|---|---|---|---|
| Moon | 3 Mar 2026 | 3 Jul 2027 | 10th |
| Mars | 3 Jul 2027 | 8 Jun 2028 | 2nd, 7th |
| Rahu | 8 Jun 2028 | 2 Nov 2030 | none |
The transit. Libra rising puts Jupiter's Leo visits on the 11th house: 31 October 2026 to 25 January 2027, 26 June to 26 November 2027, and 28 February to 24 July 2028.
Where they agree. The Mars sub-period is the 2nd lord's own. Lay Jupiter's 11th house visits over it and the two calculations agree from 4 July to 26 November 2027, which is 146 days, and again from 28 February to 9 June 2028, which is 101 days. Total agreement across the three years: 247 days.
The sharpest slices. Inside the Mars sub-period the pratyantar sequence breaks it further:
| Pratyantar | From | To | Days | Houses that lord rules |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mars | 4 Jul 2027 | 24 Jul 2027 | 19 | 2nd, 7th |
| Rahu | 24 Jul 2027 | 13 Sep 2027 | 51 | none |
| Jupiter | 13 Sep 2027 | 28 Oct 2027 | 45 | 3rd, 6th |
| Saturn | 28 Oct 2027 | 21 Dec 2027 | 53 | 4th, 5th |
| Mercury | 21 Dec 2027 | 7 Feb 2028 | 48 | 9th, 12th |
| Ketu | 7 Feb 2028 | 27 Feb 2028 | 19 | none |
| Venus | 27 Feb 2028 | 24 Apr 2028 | 56 | 1st, 8th |
| Sun | 24 Apr 2028 | 11 May 2028 | 17 | 11th |
| Moon | 11 May 2028 | 9 Jun 2028 | 28 | 10th |
Two rows carry a money lord. The first is 4 to 24 July 2027, nineteen days in which Mars holds the ladder at two levels at once while Jupiter sits in the 11th house. The second is 24 April to 11 May 2028, seventeen days in which the 11th lord runs inside the 2nd lord's sub-period, again with Jupiter in the 11th. Both are the same rare thing: agreement on all three levels of the ladder plus the transit.
The answer for this chart is not "2027 looks good". It is: nothing until 4 July 2027, support through 26 November 2027, a pause over the winter while Jupiter is in Virgo, a second run from 28 February to 9 June 2028, and then the ladder moves to Rahu, which rules neither money house, and the support drops away for two and a half years. If a raise, a switch or a funding round is going to be pushed for, it goes in the 2027 half of that, and the two tight slices are where the meeting itself belongs.
And the wealth combination? Already spent inside this major period. Its Mercury sub-period ran 4 July 2019 to 9 October 2021 and its Venus sub-period ran 15 September 2022 to 16 May 2025, so both participants have had their turn. The next activation is dated too: the Saturn major period begins 2 November 2030, and Mercury's sub-period inside it runs 5 November 2033 to 15 July 2036.
Worked chart 2: a period with no transit
Birth data: 2 September 1988, 21:45, Bengaluru. Aries rising, so Taurus falls on the 2nd house with Venus as its lord and Aquarius on the 11th with Saturn as its lord.
Saturn, the 11th lord, sits in Sagittarius in the 9th house, which places gains with patrons, mentors and cross-border connections. Venus, the 2nd lord, sits in Cancer in the 4th, which ties savings to home and property. A Jupiter major period runs 30 January 2023 to 30 January 2039, and inside it the Saturn sub-period runs 19 March 2025 to 30 September 2027. Saturn rules the 10th and the 11th here, so this chart is inside its 11th lord's sub-period right now and stays there for another thirteen months.
Jupiter gives it nothing. Aries rising puts the money houses in Taurus and Aquarius, and Jupiter enters neither before September 2029.
So this is a one-clock case, and 18.1% of the sample is in exactly this position. What it means in practice is that the support is real and slow: an 11th lord period with no transit behind it tends to produce gains that need pushing rather than gains that appear. The date that matters here is 30 September 2027, when the sub-period changes to Mercury, which rules the 3rd and 6th and no money house. Everything this window is going to give has to be asked for before then.
Worked chart 3: a transit with no sub-period, and why the ladder level matters
Birth data: 19 November 1983, 04:05, Kolkata. Libra rising again, so the money houses match worked chart 1: Scorpio on the 2nd ruled by Mars, Leo on the 11th ruled by the Sun. Everything else differs.
Mars, the 2nd lord, sits in Virgo in the 12th house. The Sun, the 11th lord, sits in Scorpio in the 2nd house itself, which is the wiring of chart 1 running the other way: what arrives goes straight into what is held. The chart carries two dhana yoga combinations rather than one.
The ladder looks empty at first. A Mars major period runs to 3 January 2027 and its last sub-period is the Moon's, which rules the 10th. Then a Rahu major period starts on 3 January 2027 and its Rahu sub-period runs to 15 September 2029, ruling nothing at all. Counted at sub-period level, this chart has no money window in the next three years, and it is one of the 47.5%.
Counted properly it does. The Mars major period is itself the 2nd lord's period, and Jupiter reaches Leo, the 11th house, on 31 October 2026. So from 31 October 2026 to 3 January 2027 there are 64 days in which the top of this chart's ladder belongs to a money lord while Jupiter transits the other money house. That is a genuine window, it is nine weeks wide, and it closes when the major period changes.
This is why the level of the ladder matters as much as the planet. A study that counts only sub-periods misses it, a reading that counts only major periods would have called the whole seven years to January 2027 a money period, and the useful answer sits between the two. After 3 January 2027 this chart runs Rahu over Rahu for nearly three years, and the honest read on Rahu is the table above: foreign markets, new technology, unconventional channels, where the edge is being early. The money houses are not carrying that period. Something else is.
Worked chart 4: when the answer is no
Birth data: 14 March 1992, 06:20, Pune. Aquarius rising, which puts Pisces on the 2nd house and Sagittarius on the 11th, and Jupiter rules both. One planet carries the entire money question, which is the concentration flagged in the first table.
Jupiter sits in Leo, in the 7th house, retrograde at birth.
A Mercury major period runs from 24 January 2021 to 24 January 2038. Inside it, the Jupiter sub-period runs 8 February 2033 to 17 May 2035, a span of 27.2 months. That is the next time the ruler of both money houses holds a period at this level, and it is more than six years out. What runs before then:
| Sub-period | From | To | Houses that lord rules |
|---|---|---|---|
| Venus | 18 Jun 2024 | 19 Apr 2027 | 4th, 9th |
| Sun | 19 Apr 2027 | 24 Feb 2028 | 7th |
| Moon | 24 Feb 2028 | 25 Jul 2029 | 6th |
| Mars | 25 Jul 2029 | 22 Jul 2030 | 3rd, 10th |
Jupiter's transit adds nothing. It stays inside Cancer, Leo, Virgo and Libra through August 2029 and never enters Pisces or Sagittarius, so it does not touch either money house in the window. Both calculations say the same thing, and the thing they say is that the money houses are not activated before September 2029.
That is the honest answer, and here is what sits underneath it. Mercury, the lord of the major period now running, is itself placed in the 2nd house, in Pisces, debilitated, meaning positioned in the sign where a planet is at its weakest. The debilitation is cancelled here, because Jupiter, which rules Pisces, sits in an angle from the ascendant, and a cancelled debilitation classically converts the weak placement into a rise built the slow way. Mercury also rules the 5th house.
So the seventeen years to 2038 belong to a planet standing in the house of what you gather and hold, with its weakness cancelled. The years to 2029 pay through that side of the question: savings rate, ownership, a base that does not depend on this month's inflow. Mercury's own channel is writing, teaching, analysis, software and per-piece contracts, so the accumulating work here has a shape as well as a direction. The house of gains gets its ruler's period from February 2033. For a chart like this, waiting for the inflow to turn is the expensive choice and building the base is the cheap one, and having the dates six years ahead is what makes that choice available.
A wealth combination is a timing fact, not a status one
The most common mistake in reading a chart for money is treating a dhana yoga as a verdict. It is not a verdict. It is a combination that sits inert until one of its participants gets a period, which is why two people with the same combination can have completely different financial lives, and why the same person can have a decade of it doing nothing followed by three years of it doing a great deal.
Worked chart 1 shows both halves of that. The combination is real, formed by Mercury and Venus in Taurus. Both planets have already had their sub-periods inside the running major period, in 2019 to 2021 and 2022 to 2025. That is why the next window in that chart is carried by Mars, a planet with no part in the combination at all, and why the combination's own next activation is 4 November 2033.
The reverse case matters just as much. A chart with no named combination is not a chart with no money. Every chart has a 2nd house, an 11th house and two lords for them, and those four things produce dated windows whether or not any famous combination is present. If you have read somewhere that your chart lacks a wealth yoga and concluded something from it, is wealth blocked in my chart takes that question apart.
What about Saturn?
Saturn's sidereal transits over the same window, computed the same way, are: Pisces until 3 June 2027, Aries from 3 June to 20 October 2027, back into Pisces from 20 October 2027 to 23 February 2028, Aries again from 23 February 2028 to 8 August 2029, then Taurus.
AstroMedha's wealth calculation does not key money timing to those dates. What it reads is the 2nd and 11th houses, their lords, the planets sitting in them, Jupiter and Venus, the classical wealth combinations, and the D2 hora. Saturn's transit is read for how a period feels to live through and what holds under pressure, which is a different question from when income rises. If that is the question you actually have, how to think about money in a Saturn period is the page for it.
Placing yourself on this page in four steps
- Find your rising sign. It needs a birth time, and a two-hour error changes the answer completely, so it is worth checking against a birth certificate rather than family memory.
- Read your 2nd and 11th lords off the first table. If Leo or Aquarius is rising, one planet holds both, and your windows are fewer and longer.
- Find your current major period and sub-period, then look up that planet in the rulership table. A 2 or an 11 in the cell means a money lord is running. Rahu and Ketu rule nothing and cannot be one.
- Check the Jupiter table for your rising sign. If your row is empty, the sky contributes nothing before September 2029 and everything rides on step 3.
Steps 1 and 3 need your birth data. Steps 2 and 4 are on this page.
Getting your own dates
The calculation on this page needs three inputs: date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth. The time places the ascendant, the ascendant fixes which signs sit on your 2nd and 11th houses, and those signs decide which planets rule them. Everything else follows.
A free chart computes your rising sign, your 2nd and 11th houses with their lords, and your current major period, sub-period and pratyantar with their dates. That is enough to place yourself in every table above and to see whether your next money window falls inside these three years or past them.
The Wealth Window report at ₹599 runs the full calculation this page describes against your chart: the 2nd and 11th houses read through their lords, the planets sitting in them and where those lords stand, with the retrograde reading where it applies; the classical wealth combinations present in your chart and which planets form them; the D2 hora split between earned and accumulated; the ranked dated windows across the coming year; and the complete sub-period sequence inside your running major period, each row flagged with which houses its lord rules for you.
More on the money houses: is wealth blocked in my chart, how to build wealth that lasts, salary and income growth, multiple income sources, and Jupiter mahadasha and money. The full collection sits at Money. This page replaces when will I get a financial breakthrough, which asks the same question and answers it without a single date.
